How do I determine the right crate size?

Start with the item’s outside length, width, and height—not just its advertised dimensions. Then add clearance for padding, blocking, bracing, and any parts that extend beyond the main body, such as handles, wheels, or cables.

The internal dimensions of the crate should comfortably fit the protected item. The exterior dimensions will be larger because they include the plywood panels and lumber frame.
